What Was the Lewis and Clark Expedition? – Judith St. George
What Was the Lewis and Clark Expedition? is part of the What Was/Who Was series which is a great new find. This non-fiction series includes engaging descriptions with illustrations that help support the text. These books make learning history fun!
Love Monster and the Perfect Present – Rachel Bright
Love Monster and the Perfect Present is the sequel to Love Monster which I previously reviewed and loved. Although the cute, colorful love monsters are appealing to young children, this book is also enjoyable for big kids. The story explores what makes a “perfect present”. In the end, the love monsters learn that a truly meaningful gift is one that comes from the heart.
Blogging Holiday
I am taking a blogging break today to spend some extra special time with our little lady who has the day off from school.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Best wishes for a wonderful day!
I Choose You Today: 31 Choices to Make Love Last – Deb DeArmond
I Choose You Today: 31 Choices to Make Love Last is a great resource for Christian couples. Each chapter begins with a real life story which is then followed with an explanation of biblical principles related to the issue/concern. The questions at the end of each chapter are well done and enhance the text. This book would be a great resource for those who are engaged and preparing to marry or for a couple-based Bible study or retreat.

Mouse and Mole Secret Valentine – Wong Herbert Yee
Mouse and Mole Secret Valentine is a sweet, heart warming story that celebrates the magic of Valentine’s Day. The text is perfect for early readers who are transitioning into chapter book reading, and the illustrations are darling.
One Cool Friend – Toni Buzzeo
One Cool Friend is a cute story that is filled with surprises. Elliot’s request to get a penguin during his visit to the aquarium begins a comical adventure with a father who doesn’t seemed particularly engaged, but in the end, this tale of father and son takes a fun unexpected turn.
Living Well, Spending Less: 12 Secrets of the Good Life – Ruth Soukup
Ruth Soukup is a popular blogger who writes about being content with less. She also provides information about home and hearth concerns and ideas for saving money when you can. Her blog is enjoyable and lots of good insights are shared. Living Well, Spending Less: 12 Secrets of the Good Life is basically a reworking of many of her most popular blog posts. The book is good, but it is doesn’t really give the reader any information beyond what Soukup shares on her blog.

Pete the Cat and the New Guy – Kimberly and James Dean
There is a new guy in the neighborhood. Pete the Cat is excited to meet him. He is taken aback by how different the new guy is from him, but he soon discovers that someone being different can be good for all involved. Pete the Cat and the New Guy is a cute book with a great message.
