This month I will be featuring books from one of my favorite authors – Peter H. Reynolds. I have shared many of his books in previous posts and have some new ones to share. The first is Our Table. The reader is given a glimpse of what results when one is tethered to a screen. It also shares the connection that is possible when a family shares meal together. This important message is beautifully presented.
Little Oink is another silly tale from Amy Krouse Roshenthal. It features Little Oink who is a very neat and tidy pig. His parents work hard to help Little Oink be a respectable pig who can make a really good mess.
What child wouldn’t delight at the thought of reversing roles and being in charge of bedtime for Mommy? This is a silly book that would make a great bedtime story. It is a delight.
This month I am featuring a few books that are new to me from talented author Amy Krouse Rosenthal.
Yes Day! is a darling book that highlights a single day during the year where the answer to every request is yes. What child could not relate to wanting that kind of day in their own life? Whimsical illustrations enhance the text of this fun tale.
Taste and See: All About God’s Goodness highlights God’s provision in the form of food throughout the Bible. The illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful – colorful and dramatic. Further support for continued discussion about God’s love is provided in the resource pages at the end of the book.
While this complimentary book was provided for review by New Growth Press, no other compensation was given. All remarks are my personal and honest opinions.
Song of Middle C tells the tale of a first piano recital. After a great deal of practice, it is finally time to show off all that has been learned. The challenge of live performance quickly becomes apparent for the young musician, but her improvisation and grit save the day.
Countdown to Kindergarten tackles a young girl’s fear of not knowing how to tie her own shoes before she heads off to kindergarten. In her mind, she has created a reality where she is the only one who isn’t fully able to take care of this task on her own. This sweet tale shares the truth of the matter. She is not alone in her need for a little help in tying her shoes, and her teacher is happy to help her.
Goodnight, Sleepyville shares the end of day routines for the sweet animal families that were featured in last week’s book (Welcome to Morningtown). The illustrations truly bring the text to life. This lovely book is a perfect bedtime story for preschool aged children.
Welcome to Morningtown is a sweet story celebrating waking up and getting going for the day. It features a myriad of different animals families that little ones are sure to enjoy. It is filled with delightful illustrations and an encouraging message.
