I decided that it was time to start reading some of my favorite classics to our daughter this summer.  The Little House Series seemed like a good fit for her due to her love of the outdoors and since one of the main character is about her age.   I  couldn’t have imagined the instant love affair she would have with these books.  I have been using these for a special read aloud “Mommy reading time”, and she can’t seem to get enough of them.  The books provide a lot to talk about: the value of hard work, determination, kindness, respecting one’s elders, as well as working cooperatively as a family.  The Little House series is a winner!
