Our daughter is crazy about this fairy book series.  There are LOTS of different titles, and they feature fairies that befriend a wide variety of animals as well as play instruments and participate in lots of exciting and fun adventures.  These are enjoyable independent reading books that build fluency and confidence in young readers.
