Anyone but Ivy Pocket is a tale of adventure and mystery. Ivy has a rather distorted view of herself and seems to find mishaps at every turn. The story is fast paced and the book is hard to put down once you start.

God Made All of Me: A Book to Help Children Protect Their Bodies – Justin S. Holcomb & Lindsey A. Holcomb
God Made All of Me is an outstanding book. Tackling the issue of how to protect your body is not an easy topic to put into a kid-friendly form, but this book has done it. Informative as well as a colorful and engaging, God Made All of Me reaffirmed previous discussions we have had with our daughter. I particularly liked the information regarding the difference between secrets and surprises as well as the discussion about each person being in charge of the their own body at all times.

Brave Enough – Nicole Unice
Brave Enough tackles the issue of fear within us and points to the courage each of us can find in a relationship with Christ that will empower us and transform our lives. I liked how Unice focuses on the idea that we don’t have to be weighed down by unrealistic, super hero levels of bravery as we tackle challenges. We just need to be brave enough to face the challenges within our own lives.

The Finishing School: How One Book Nerd Began Living What She Learned – Valerie Woerner
The Finishing School: How One Book Nerd Began Living What She Learned is a delightful and thought provoking book. I immediately connected with the author as a fellow “book nerd” and appreciated her conversational tone. This book tackles a wide variety of issues from prayer to self control which may be areas where one is a work in progress. Woerner then provides insights including reflection-based homework which will assist in putting desires for growth into action. This one is a winner!
