Love provides a reflective tale of the different ways love manifests itself throughout our lives through our relationships and experiences. This is a beautifully illustrated book and has tremendous depth beyond a traditional read-aloud picture book. Although this book can certainly be enjoyed by young readers, readers with more life experience will find even more to appreciate.

Unified is an interesting, easy to read book that provides the alternating perspectives of Tim Scott and Trey Gowdy on a host of issues. This book is not a policy related text, it is about their lives prior to politics, the development of their friendship, and their collective hope for our country’s future. Positive and refreshing, this one is worth reading.

Jill Briscoe’s latest book tackles the limits we put on our ourselves through our doubts. Using the stories of Moses and other Old Testament characters, she highlights how to overcome fear and doubt in order to use your gifts to truly honor God. Set up with discussion questions within each chapter, this would make a great book for a small group study.

Nerdy Birdy is back with a great new story. He has been introduced to social media and becomes a bit “over-connected”. He has to learn the hard way that real friends you can talk to and share adventures with are the most precious friends. This book has a very powerful message and could be used to start a conversation about responsible social media usage with young children as well as adults.
Growing Kids with Character: Nurturing Your Child’s Potential, Purpose, and Passion is a Christian parenting book. The author uses gardening as a framework for understanding how we as parents can help our children grow. Although I didn’t find a lot of the information to be particularly revolutionary, I did enjoy this book and felt there were many good reminders within the text.

Reading this book has become a special Easter tradition for our family.
The Flowering Cross was a very quick favorite for our daughter. It is a touching Easter story which focuses on the transformational power of God’s love.
Katie is a six year old little girl who truly loves God. She displays her unconditional love and kindness to her neighbor Jack who is known throughout the neighborhood for being “mean”. Soon her kindness not only brings out kindness and gentleness in Jack but also a willingness to accept God’s love.
The illustrations in this book are amazing. They bring the story to life with the use of vivid color and detail. They truly enhance the story for the reader.
Bible verses as well as faith imprints which include discussion starters are found throughout the book and provide a terrific addition to the story. Additionally, directions on how to create a flowering cross are also included at the end of the story. This was particularly appreciated by this reader since our daughter has become keenly interested in the idea of our family making a flowering cross!
