Prepare Him Room is a delightful guide to implementing gospel focused traditions for your family during Advent.  This lovely book includes weekly scripture readings as well as Christmas activities and songs.  It would be a wonderful early Christmas gift for a family with young children.

The Clever Stick is an enchanting tale.  Who would ever imagine using a stick as the main character of a children’s picture book?!  I found this one on the new picture book shelf at our local library and quickly realized I had found a winner.  The expressive pictures couple perfectly with the smart text.

The stick is clever in countless ways from solving problems to enjoying poetry, but since he cannot speak his cleverness is not fully known.  The stick’s journey of self-discovery takes the reader to unexpected places that ultimately delight.

This book is a perfect to share as a read aloud!

Serial Griller is a beautiful book which focuses on grilling with charcoal.  The first half of the book highlights many notable grill masters and includes a signature recipe for each one.  The second half of the book includes many delicious recipes as well as grilling tips and tricks.  The color pictures throughout the book serve as an encouragement to try each and every recipe.

The Pop Culture Parent is a a great parenting resource.  It encourages engagement with pop culture rather avoidance and explores fulfilling our role in the Great Commission by serving as an ambassador of Christ in our current culture.  The authors did a great job exploring parenting through this lens throughout childhood including the teen year.  This one is a winner!

lThe ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal  is as beautiful as it is useful.  Each volume includes the entire text of that book of the Bible.  The two page spreads include one page of text and one page for taking notes.  Additionally, there are beautiful illustrations throughout.  ESV Study Journals may be purchased for individual books of the Bible or as sets which include the entire Old Testament, New Testament, or the entire Bible.

DoubtLess – Because Faith is Hard – Shelby Abbott

DoubtLess does a phenomenal job of addressing the issue of doubt when it comes to faith.  It specifically hones in on the difference between doubt and unbelief.  Written to target college student and other young adults, this text is encouraging and empowering.
