Who is Jesus? is a beautifully illustrated family devotional book that would be perfect for the the Season of Lent.  The promise of salvation that is woven throughout scripture is highlighted in each daily reading.  Additionally, each reading is followed by a robust number of questions that are outstanding for family discussion as well as key scriptures from both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  This one is a winner!

Darkest Night Brightest Day is a beautiful family devotional.  It is a perfect resource to use in preparation for Easter.  This book is cleverly designed to include the final days of the life of Jesus and his crucifixion with the book oriented one way, and then the reader flips the book over to read about resurrection.  This design reinforces the darkness that is transformed into ultimate hope.

Way Back Wednesday ~ Love Monster and the Last Chocolate – Rachel Bright

Although not specifically a Valentine’s book, this story is a sweet one!

Love Monster is such a cute character.  I was excited to see that he is now featured in a number of books.  Love Monster and the Last Chocolate is a very sweet story that focuses on the importance of being a good friend and the rewards of showing kindness to others.  We loved this one!

In an attempt to make sure he is not the main course for Thanksgiving, turkey undertakes a hilarious series of disguise attempts.  He ultimately finds the perfect disguise and has the best Thanksgiving ever.  This fun picture book is a delight and would be a terrific read-aloud option.
