This book is a winner. It focuses on the importance of grit, hard work, being kind, and having fun while dealing with the ups and downs of life. Although a board book targeted to little ones, it includes wisdom for all ages.
God Made Me for Worship is a terrific book that helps explains the corporate worship experience to children. It is scripture based and is written in an easy to understand manner. Colorful, engaging illustrations enhance the text. This book would be a terrific tool to assist a child who is transitioning into attending “Big Church”.

It Will Be Okay: Trusting God Through Fear and Change is a terrific book. The friendship that develops between little seed and little fox is a sweet one. Their adventures together ultimately help them realize that although things around them may change – God is always there.
For little ones who tend to be anxious and worry, this book is a must have!

God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture is a 15-session DVD curriculum that explores sexuality from a Bible-based outlook. Each session includes a minister that discusses a specific area of concern. This collection would be an outstanding resource for church-based small group study.

Bible Stories: In the Beginning includes movie adaptations of the lives of four different Bible characters – Abraham, Moses, Jacob, and Joseph. These movies have been restored and remastered, but they still clearly feel like they were produced in a different time. That being said, the stories are faithfully presented and feature a number of notable actors. Although the video is rated “family approved” by the Dove Foundation, I would caution parents to preview the video first. The treatment of animals is a particular concern. The images are realistic for the time period, and I believe young viewers could easily be disturbed by them.

Using the Bible story of the loaves and the fishes as a framework, Austin shares how each and every one of us is special and has something to share that will ultimately have a positive impact. This book was specifically written to encourage and empower teenagers, but I think the message is very well presented and would be an encouraging read for adults as well. I particularly liked the questions at the end of each chapter. They were a great starting point
for further reflection as well as discussion about the text.

Antonio Meets His Match is the latest release from Max Lucado’s Hermie and Friends Series. The focus of this DVD is the importance of loving your neighbor. After an introduction by Lucado, the viewer is introduced to Antonio. He has long been considered the leader of the ants. It appears he may loose his special place in the ant world when some “foreign” ants move into the garden. Antonio’s first inclination is to throw the new ants out of the garden, but through God’s intervention Antonio takes a different course. Upon the conclusion of the story Lucado provides further discussion of the key theme (loving your neighbor) of the DVD. His manner in both the introduction and wrap up is warm and pleasant.
I wish some of the warmth and gentleness displayed by Lucado was more evident in the animated characters. None of them were particularly likable. Although the DVD is rated for all ages, I think the best target audience for the DVD is probably early elementary aged boys. The aggressiveness of the ants and the conflict within the video makes it potentially disturbing for very young (pre-school aged) viewers.
Although not a hit for our home, I do think that little boys would potentially truly enjoy this animated story which shares an important biblical lesson.
