We loved A Place for Pluto! This highly engaging book details Pluto’s shock and dismay when he is stripped of his planet status and his subsequent attempts to find where he might fit within the universe. Scientifically sound, funny, and encouraging, A Place for Pluto is a winner.
Blaze of Light is quite outside of the types of books I usually read, but I am so glad I read it. This amazing true story is incredibly powerful and inspiring. Gary Beikirch is truly an American hero both on the battlefield and in life.

I Wish You More is a delightful book filled with wishes for the future. It is a great text to use at the end of the year with students, but it is also a great option that can be used at the beginning of the year as you discuss classroom expectations and goals for the school year and beyond with learners of varying ages.
Remarkably You is a wonderful picture book that provides encouragement to embrace your unique you-ness. Uplifting text is coupled with delightful illustrations. This book would be a phenomenal resource to use at the beginning of the school year no matter what age learners you might be working with this year.
When You a Brave explores finding courage within yourself. It is a lovely book that includes beautiful illustrations and rich use of literary devices. Although a picture book, it would make a terrific read aloud for older students.
Looking for a book to the kick-off the new school year? I Will Be Fierce is a fun read that features a young lady who takes on the world as a brave explorer on an epic quest. This a great book to set the tone for a new school year of discovery!

Goodbye, Friend! Hello, Friend is a great little children’s book that tackles the topic of change and highlights challenges as well as rewards. Gentle text and engaging illustrations make this a wonderful read aloud that will resonate with students and most assuredly spark further discussion.
