The A-Z of C.S. Lewis – Colin Duriez

This book was so much more than I was expecting.  It is truly an encyclopedia of the life and work of C.S. Lewis.  Enthusiastic fans as well as true scholars, will be able to appreciate this text.  It is truly exhaustive and helps a reader gain greater understanding of Lewis and his work.

Real Women Leading with Proverbs 31 Values – Lisa Troyer and Dawn Yoder

Real Women Leading with Proverbs 31 Values shares ten different values from Proverbs 31 and then discusses them in action using a variety of different women from the Bible.  The authors do a great job of making the material highly applicable to everyday experiences.  This book is well worth reading and provides much to think about for the reader.

Love Monster – Rachel Bright

Poor Monster is looking for love.  He quickly finds that everyone loves cute, fluffy creatures like kittens and bunnies but finding love as a hairy, googly-eyed monster is rather difficult.  Just as little monster is about to give up on finding love, everything changes and love finds him.  Great text combined with darling illustrations make this a terrific read-a-loud to share with someone special!

Once Upon a Memory – Nina Laden

Today is a very unexpected “snow day” for us.  It is actually an ice day, and we are enjoying hot chocolate, games, and crafts at our home.  Our daughter asked if she might be able to be a guest blogger today at Once Upon a Storyville which seemed like a fun idea.  Here is her first blog post:

Once Upon a Memory was great.  The pictures are very cute.  I really liked the picture with the tree and all of the animals in it and the one with animals playing in the leaves.  This book would be fun to read anytime, but it would be an especially great bedtime story!

Weelicious Lunches: Think Outside the Lunchbox with More than 160 Happier Meals – Catherine McCord

Well, I really liked the first Weelicious cookbook so I had to check out the second one, and I think I may even like it better than the first!  It is easy to get in a lunch making rut when it comes to packing lunches for little ones.  This cookbook provides a ton of fun, healthy, innovative ideas.  The chocolate chip granola bars are a new pantry staple for us.  They are delicious. easy and nut-free.
