I Love Texas: An ABC Adventure is a charming introduction to all things Texas for little ones. Each page features a single letter and a Texas themed word which is whimsically illustrated. This book would make a perfect baby gift.

Frog is back, and this time he is frustrated because there is nothing to do. After much searching and frustration, he gets a bit of insight from a frog friend who encourages him to enjoy the world around him. Ultimately, Frog finds joy and peace as he takes in the wonder of nature.
A recent trip to the library allowed for the discovery of a few new Dev Petty books.
I Don’t Want to Go to Sleep features our froggy friend from I Don’t Want to be a Frog puzzling over how frogs get to spend the winter. Initially, our frog friend wants to spend the winter having fun in the snow and drinking hot cocoa and then snuggling up by the fire in a blanket. The other animals gently explain that frogs hibernate like bears but do so in the mud rather than a cave. The frog comes to understand the importance of hibernating and brings his friends along to join him.

Our daughter is crazy about frogs and was a bit skeptical when she saw this book. The story focuses on a frog who isn’t very comfortable in his own green skin. He imagines life would be much better as a cat, or a pig, or perhaps an owl. The little frog ultimately learns that being a frog holds is own unique rewards.
The Somethingosaur is a delightful rhyming tale that features a brave little newborn creature who is on the search for his family and his home during the time of the dinosaurs. This book is beautifully illustrated and includes a fun surprise at the end for the reader. This one is a winner!
This is my favorite Valentine’s Day book in our collection. Little Mouse has a very big valentine that he wants to share, but none of his friends are interested because it is just too big. As he ponders how to solve his dilemma, Little Mouse makes a new friend and together they come up with a solution that allows everyone to enjoy a Valentine’s Day treat.
A Christmas Story is a lovely book that tells the story of an angel who is uncertain what to bring to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. Ultimately, she realizes a star that shines brightly is the perfect gift for a king. The text and illustrations in this book work together beautifully to create a wonderful holiday read. This book is not to be missed!
You Are is a beautiful board book that shares God love and details just how special and important each precious child is in God’s eyes. Biblical truths are shared in story form as well as being included through the addition of relevant scripture passages. The illustrations in this book are colorful and appealing. This is a must buy Christmas gift for any baby or toddler in your life!

Peter from Peter, Paul, and Mary has collaborated with Lenny Lipton to create a children’s book version of the beloved song Puff the Magic Dragon, and it is a winner. The lyrics of the song have been brought to life with amazing full-page illustrations that delight readers of all ages. This book also includes a four song CD recorded by Peter Yarrow.
The Daily Question for You and Your Child is a nifty journal that allows you to capture your child’s thoughts and feelings about a variety of subjects over the course of a three year period. This would be a delightful keepsake to use with a young child, but it would also be terrific to use with older children who may not be as chatty about their hopes and dreams as they were when they were younger. The Daily Question would be a lovely gift for a family…Perhaps even your own!
